Spotlight on Success: SI Revill, Surrey ACF Media Officer

Jamie Revill is a committed adult volunteer, sharing his passion for youth development as the County Media Officer for Surrey Army Cadet Force (ACF). Recently, Jamie was awarded a personal development bursary from ACCT UK, which enabled him to pursue an ILM Level 3 qualification in Leadership & Management.

Making a Difference in the Army Cadet Force

The impact of this training has been immediate and tangible. The ILM course has helped Jamie align more closely with the leader he aspires to be within the ACF:

“The grant has had a significant impact on my cadet career, helping me align more closely with the type of leader I aspire to become within the Army Cadet Force (ACF). Through this training, I have gained valuable insights into motivating a team, developing my personal leadership style, and improving my effectiveness as both an individual and a team leader.”

Jamie is now seeking a Detachment Commander post. He’s eager to apply his enhanced leadership skills to support cadet development and training.

Transforming Ambition into Achievement

Jamie’s journey with the bursary has been transformative. The financial support from ACCT UK allowed him to enrol in the ILM Level 3 course. This is a nationally recognised qualification designed to build practical leadership and management skills. Jamie shares:

“The grant provided by ACCT UK has supported my progress toward achieving a Level 3 qualification in Leadership and Management. This training is enhancing my ability to lead effectively, manage teams, and contribute more confidently in a professional setting.”

For Jamie, the benefits of the bursary extend beyond the ACF. In his professional leadership role at a well-known supermarket, Jamie is already applying new techniques to motivate his team, foster collaboration, and take on greater responsibility. The skills gained are therefore not only strengthening his contribution to the ACF, but also advancing his career.
