Cadet Challenge Champions 2023

9 January 2024

We’re thrilled to announce the winners of our 2023 Cadet Challenge! Cadets and adult volunteers demonstrated their creativity in fundraising to support access to more opportunities in the Army Cadet Force program. There were various challenges attempted, both individually and as detachment groups. We are very grateful for all the support received for our ACCT UK fundraising challenge.

Cadet Winner

Our Cadet winner is 15 year old Eden De Burgh from Sword Company, Wiltshire who showed great initiative and originality in their fundraising by walking almost 30 miles overnight from her home to get to her school in time the next morning. Not only did Eden raise funds for ACCT UK but also used the opportunity to raise awareness of the struggle other young people have across the world to make it to school.

Adult Volunteer winner

Our Adult Volunteer winner is Detachment Commander for Dumbarton and Vale of Leven, Will East, from Argyll and Sutherland who was one of the first CFAV’s to fundraise for ACCT UK, he led by example and helped us develop the Cadet Challenge.

Both the cadet and adult volunteer winners are invited to attend our Excellence Awards in London in later this year. Travel and accommodation will be provided for each winner and a guest and they will be presented with our first ever ACCT UK Cadet Challenge Awards.

Winning Group

Our winning group is 2nd Battalion NI ACF. They demonstrated outstanding dedication and support by undertaking a wide variety of fundraising challenges including bake sales, parachute jumps, football collections and a 7 Peaks Challenge, engaging with their local community to promote the ACF and build closer ties. Their impressive fundraising of £4,028! will make a significant impact for ACCT UK. Our winners will receive a £200 voucher to help buy some much needed equipment and will be presented with our new annual Cadet Challenge Trophy which they will hold for a year and will be the first group to have their name inscribed on it!

Special recognition

Special recognition goes to Wiltshire ACF and especially Sword Company, for their outstanding contribution, as the highest fundraising County/Unit in 2023! Including all their individual fundraisers and group events they raised an amazing £4,476.60!!!

Huge thanks to the winners and everyone who participated—the fundraising ideas were truly impressive! Don’t forget to sign up for Cadet Challenge 2024.
