Staff Sergeant Instructor Catherine Pawson and Sergeant Major Instructor Kirkham from 1st NI Bn ACF Battalion organised a fundraiser at a football match held during the Crusaders vs. Glentoran match at Seaview Park on Thursday, 26th October. Cadets from both the 1st and 2nd battalions successfully collected an impressive £621 for ACCT UK.
Additionally, 2nd Battalion cadets from G Company raised a fantastic £3,000 through a parachute jump and various other events. The funds were raised by a group of 9 cadets and 4 CFAVs from different detachments in G Company, under the coordination of Major J Newman. Each individual was tasked with raising £250, and they achieved this through raffles, cake sales, a sponsored silence, the 7 Peaks Challenge, and a Parachute jump.
Those participating in the parachute jump received support from ACCT UK to assist with the course cost and decided to use the opportunity for sponsorship to give back to the charity. Cadets over the age of 16 took the leap, completing static line jumps from 3,000 feet, while one CFAV completed a tandem jump from 13,000 feet.
It’s truly commendable to see the cadets actively participating in the Cadet Challenge and raising much needed funds for ACCT UK. We deeply appreciate all the hard work and dedication that went into making all these fundraising activities a success. Thank you for your fantastic contribution!
