ACCT UK's award scheme celebrates excellence and leadership by Army Cadets and Adult Volunteers
26 November 2021
The ACCT UK Recognising Excellence Awards, sponsored by BAE Systems and Ammo & Co, are a special award which supports and promotes the ACF’s core non-military programmes: The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, First Aid, Music (Bands), Music (Pipes and Drums), National Sports and Community Service. As well as the winners’ trophies the ACCT UK President’s Certificate is awarded to worthy nominees.
These programmes give breadth to an army cadet’s experience and this award recognises the huge commitment of ACF adult volunteers and the amazing achievements of the cadets in these areas.
Previous winners include Lt Aliysha Frith (Staffordshire & West Midlands (North Sector) ACF) the CFAV Bands and Corps of Drums winner for her significant impact on music at a County, Regional and National Level; Cdt Sgt Ethan Wilson (1 Northern Ireland Battalion ACF) First Aid cadet winner for his exceptional skills in, and commitment to, First Aid, and his ability to inspire younger cadets; and AUO Denise Price (Greater London South East Sector ACF) CFAV First Aid for the outstanding commitment shown as Sector First Aid Training Officer for over 7 years.
ACCT UK also awards National Praiseworthy Action Certificates.  In exceptional circumstances the National Meritorious Action certificate can be awarded. Nominations can be made at any time. Many nominations result in Royal Humane Society awards and other awards from independent awarding bodies. Two ACCT UK National Praiseworthy Action Certificates were awarded just last week to Staff Cadet Gaby and Cadet Sergeant Oliver from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire ACF for their actions in response to a medical emergency at a Remembrance Parade. We are honoured to be able to recognise and reward such outstanding behaviour!
And the nominations don’t stop there; ACCT UK also puts forward suitable nominees for many other national awards, including the newly instituted League of Mercy’s Distinguished Community Service Medal for Cadets and the British Citizen Award.
