Music Growth in City of London & North East Sector ACF

16 July 2024

The City of London & North East Sector Army Cadet Force (ACF) has reached a significant milestone in its ongoing Music Development Project. Supported by a grant from ACCT UK, the Sector has purchased 30 new flutes, greatly enhancing their music programme and benefiting cadets across the region.

At ACCT UK, we are dedicated to providing grants that support the development and enrichment of youth programmes such as this one in the City of London and the North East Sector ACF. Our mission is to empower young people through opportunities that foster personal growth, teamwork, and discipline. The recent grant for the purchase of 30 flutes is a testament to our commitment to these goals.

The Music Development Project has been a cornerstone of the City of London & North East Sector ACF’s activities for the past five years. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the project has persevered and flourished. Initially, the programme began with one Corps of Drums Detachment (30 CoD), which has grown to include 50 cadets and 7 Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs).

With the new grant from ACCT UK, the Sector purchased 30 cadet flutes. This acquisition is vital as it enables the Sector to expand the flute sections across all three Corps of Drums Detachments, creating more effective and harmonious musical ensembles. Each cadet will have a personal flute to practise with, enhancing their individual musical development and skills.

The City of London & North East Sector ACF has already demonstrated its commitment to the Music Development Project by investing in other essential equipment and maintaining its existing Corps of Drums inventory. The grant from ACCT UK represents a significant boost, enabling further growth and ensuring the sustainability of the programme.

ACCT UK is proud to support such initiatives and look forward to seeing the continued success and growth of the Music Development Project. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of young people, one note at a time.
