ACCT UK ticket winners share their thoughts on their unique experience!
23 June 2022
ACCT UKโs Queen’s Birthday Parade ticket winners had a lovely time at the Trooping the Colour Parade on the 2nd of June. ๐๐The tickets were awarded to exemplary cadets and adult volunteers, who have gone above and beyond in their contribution to the Army Cadet Force community.ย
Thank you to Cdt Cpl Sam Johnson, SMI Chris Cotton and SSI Jess Pugh for sharing their photos and thoughts on the experience. We wish we could have been there too!
“The visit to London was one of the best trips, I enjoyed every minute of it, I’ve always said I’ve wanted to go and watch the Trooping the Colour but would never of thought I would win tickets and be going this year for the Platinum Jubilee.”
SSI Jess Danielle Pugh – Clwyd & Gwynedd ACF
“We had an amazing visit to London for both myself and my wife Kara. We attended the Army Cadet Charitable Trust UK Excellence Award Presentations at the Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) and thereafter the Queenโs Birthday Parade. The Award Ceremony was great and the private tour of the Honourable Artillery Company was brilliant. The reception for the winners was very inspiring to all that attended. I have been very lucky to have been invited along to a few events over the years in my Cadet career but this one was one of the most amazing things what with the Trooping of the Colour and with it being such a special event being the Platinum Jubilee this is a memory that will be long remembered. From my wife and myself thank you again to all that helped to make this a great few days.”
SMI Chris Cotton, Lothian and Borders ACF
“I would like to say a massive thank you to the adults who organized this event and a massive thank you to SMI John Tillotson for making this happen.
On Thursday the 2nd of June we made our way to Trafalgar Square using the tube which is where both Cpl Ruby Rusdale and I were shocked by the support of the public, this was shown massively when we came up from the underground and saw a crowed of 3000+ people within the square.
After watching the parade, we joined the crowed of people who then proceeded to walk down the mall right up to Buckingham Palace to watch the flyover and see the Queen on the balcony. The flyover due to being 70 years was bigger and better than most years so it is now something I am very happy to have witnessed on such an occasion.”
