The 2024 British Citizen Youth Award (BCyA), recognises extraordinary young people making a positive impact on their communities and society at large.
One of this year’s recipients is Cadet Isabella Turner (1 Bn The Highlanders ACF) from North East Scotland. Isabella co-produced the Tornado of Change. This project helps children from military families transition to civilian life. Her initiatives include:
The BCyA is now in its ninth year. It is open to individuals under 18 who are committed to helping others and is seen as the nation’s way of recognising exceptional young people.
Last year, Peter Cordwell from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire ACF, received the British Citizen Youth Award Medal of Honour.
As a charity dedicated to helping young people learn new skills and build confidence through their Army Cadet experience, we’re inspired by these young changemakers. Their dedication to improving their communities aligns closely with our values (Abiding, Committed, Courageous, Trustworthy).
ACCT UK takes pride in army cadets and adult volunteers. We recognise and celebrate their contributions in non-military activities.
To nominate an army cadet or adult volunteer, please visit our awards page. We review ACCT UK award nominations for external awards, such as the BCA and BCyA.
