ACCT UK insurance vs. MOD indemnity
Understanding the difference

The ACCT UK Group Personal Accident (GPA) Scheme offers crucial protection that goes well beyond the MOD Indemnity.

MOD Indemnity:

ACCT UK GPA Scheme:

ACCT UK CPLI Extension:

The ACCT UK scheme ensures cadets and volunteers receive prompt financial assistance after an accident, without the burden of proving fault. Both schemes can work together—claiming under the ACCT UK policy does not affect your right to pursue a claim against the MOD where appropriate.

Why insurance is important

ACCT UK’s Member Insurance was there to help ACF volunteer Jack and his family in a time of need. In 2019 Jack Land was travelling home from a course when he was severely injured in a car crash. Jack’s father Ian “was so grateful for the ACCT UK Insurance.” Within a matter of days, Ian received money to support his unconscious son. Working closely with the county Cadet Executive Officer and the “extremely helpful and understanding” ACCT UK Insurance Officer, Ian received regular payments as Jack’s acting Power of Attorney.

The payments were not insignificant and continued over several months. I cannot put into words how much this financial support meant to me and my son during the most challenging ‘touch and go’ period immediately after the accident.

Travel insurance

If your Army Cadet Unit is conducting activity that requires travel insurance, ACCT UK also operates a Group Travel Insurance Policy that you can buy into. We have negotiated for the premiums to remain the same as last year and the excess remains at £40, making this competitively priced travel insurance. More importantly, it is tailored to the needs of the cadet youth movement and the activities carried out by cadets.

Should you need travel insurance, or have any questions about the scheme please contact insurance@acctuk.org.
